Our Governance
How We Work
ReDiscover Downtown Peru is led by a working board. Board members roll up their sleeves on the same four areas that guide every Main Street community in the country.
Who's Behind This
A Working Board
RDP is run primarily by volunteers. Our board members chair committees, plan events, review grant applications, and show up on alongside everyone else.
We're a nonprofit affiliate of Indiana Main Street, part of the national Main Street America network, and we organize our work — and our board — around the same four points that have guided downtown revitalization since the 1980s.

Our Work Across Four Points
Every project RDP takes on falls under one of four points. Each has its own board committee, so the work stays focused and nothing falls through the cracks.
Organization
Building the volunteers, partnerships, and funding base that keep the revitalization effort running — the board, the committees, and the budget behind everything else on this page.
Design
Improving how downtown looks and functions — storefronts, signage, streetscape, and public space — while protecting the historic character that makes it worth visiting.
Promotion
Marketing downtown's businesses and events to shoppers, diners, and visitors — Second Saturdays, seasonal festivals, and the everyday reasons to choose downtown first.
Economic Vitality
Strengthening downtown's business base — recruiting new tenants, supporting existing owners, and matching available buildings with the right investment.
This framework comes from Main Street America, the national network RDP belongs to as one of Indiana's certified Main Street communities.
